A DANCE

A DANCE is a site specific, non-story based and improvised performance, which invites the audience to a new form of ritual made from repetition, high physicality, loudness, sound glitches and noises.
A DANCE is an ongoing artistic research through raw movement and sound that translates into public performances, where Magdalena Hylak and Lionel Kasparian explore the relationships and tensions between public-personal, inside-outside, visible-invisible.

Lionel Kasparian – Je(ux) De Gestes

“Je(ux) de gestes” is an installation based on a corpus of images and sounds collected in Aix-en-Provence as part of ‘Terrain de Je(u)’, a project conducted with documentarian and video artist Emmanuel Vigier.
“Je(ux) de gestes” attempts to capture the place of play in life, its individual and collective relationships, from a musical point of view.
In this installation, several players draw in chalk their childhood games. One player finishes, another replaces him. In the center, two collective game sequences involving the same players follow. To accompany the sequences, three pieces of music have been composed: three pieces of music for two sequences, like the game of musical chairs.
